Texas A&M University's campus in Qatar was established in 2003. Texas A&M University offers Bachelor of Science degrees in chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and petroleum engineering. The university also offers two graduate degrees in chemical engineering since 2011: a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.). In addition to engineering courses, Texas A&M at Qatar provides instruction in science, mathematics, liberal arts and the humanities.
The College of Engineering (CENG) at Qatar University (QU) was established in 1980 with four programs and less than 50 students. Over the years, the college has grown to become a flagship for QU with 8 undergraduate programs, 7 master programs, and one PhD program with more than 3600 students.
In accordance with this rapid growth, the college has started a systematic process for quality assurance applied to all the programs. The college has also moved through the required stages that lead to accreditation for its programs, according to the standards of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET is a highly recognized and internationally respected accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. ABET has set the higher-educational standards in its fields for nearly 75 years.
Qatar’s first national College of Education was founded in 1973, by decree of the Emir of Qatar, in his vision to place education as a priority in the country’s expansion.
The country’s rapid development highlighted the requirement for the College’s expansion, to provide additional areas of specialization in line with the requirements of the population. Consequently, in 1977, Qatar University was founded with four new colleges; Science, education, Humanities & Social Sciences, Sharia and Law & Islamic Studies. Since then, the institution rapidly expanded, with the founding of the College of Engineering in 1980 and College of Business in 1985. In addition, it originally supported several small independent research centers, and worked to establish a national community college; the College of Technology.
Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) is an additional location of Georgetown University, based in Education City in Doha. University's School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFSQ) offers a four-year Liberal Arts program, which yields a BSc in Foreign Service Degree (BSFS).
The program consists of two parts: for the first two years, students take a broad range of core subjects designed to help them identify their interests; at the end of their second year, students choose to major in International politics, Culture and Politics, or International Economics. The students can also earn certificates in American or Arab studies in addition to their degrees. The degree obtained from SFSQ will read Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar.

Founded in the 1980s, Doha College (or DC) was has a student body of over 2000 students from 68 nationalities. The school is sponsored by the British Embassy and is a non-profit organisation. The school is academically selective, both for admissions and progress between key stages. The college offers a broad choice of courses to study, totaling 25 A‐Level subjects and a BTEC Diploma in Sports Coaching. They have integrated digital learning in the curriculum; the school was recently shortlisted by the British International Schools Magazine Awards in the “Outstanding Digital Technology Initiative” category.
Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) college pre-medical program opened in the fall of 2002, and was reportedly the first coeducational institute of higher education in Qatar. Its clinical affiliates are the Hamad Medical Corporation's General Hospital and Women's Hospital.

Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) was founded in 1977 as the Civil Aviation College of the Gulf States, with assistance from the United Nations Development Program. It changed its name in 1996 to Qatar Aeronautical College, and its programmes have now expanded to include training not just for Airline Pilots but also for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers, Meteorologists, Airport Operations Management Personnel and Flight Dispatchers.
